His father was a bull rider and team roper, and his mother ran barrels. Rusty’s hobbies include skiing, hunting and fishing. Outside of the rodeo, Rusty works as an engineer. He travels with Shawn Morehead and idolizes rodeo studs such as Lewis Field and Rod Hay.
