I wish I could tell you all that Istill have the boots but they left my feet in the operating room the night I was hit by the drunk driver..I had played for a dance on halloween night in 1976 and at the end of the night i carried my gibson guitar and fender amp across the road to my car in front of the hall...when I put the amp and guitar in the back seat, I closed the door and looked up...a whistling noise and one headlight caught my attention. I realized that my situation was bad so I took one step and jumped up on the trunk of my new chrysler cordoba..My right leg was hanging over the side of my car..the guy hit my carand flipped me up in the air about 12 feet while he tore the left side of my car offand went on...he ended up on the top of a small bridge...I landed on the road in front of the hall with my right leg pushed up to my knee...a nurse at the dance that night held me in her arms til the ambulance got there...at the hospital they put my leg on ice and in an inflateable cast ...this was at 3.00am and the surgeon didn't get there til six...I was out of it and when he brought me to, he told me he was going to try to save my leg, but said it was broken in 16 places and all the bones came through the boot as my right foot was up close to my knee...6 hours later . he hadput it all back together ...he said if it hadn't been for the boot, he could never have saved my leg but all the pieces were theremostly...he put 2 titanium plateson each side of my leg and10 screws to hold it all together. his words were "son ,in 2 weeks time if you leg isn't the right color and swelling hasn't gone down, I'll have to take your leg off above the knee...that happened on oct 30-31, 1976...I still have my leg thanks to the cowboy boots and a wonderful doctor who now lives near San diego, california...I called him last year on the phone after tracking him down and we talked and exchanged email addresses...My leg is still on me.,and I still have the titanium plate and screwsin a plastic bag hanging on my workshop bench to remind me as I'm doing guitar repair....my doctors name wasMatty Patel,he certainly was the angel God sent me that night as I have now raised4 sons and a daughter, still play my gbson les paul guitar in my band and still sing country music...God made it all happen because of a pair of boots , a doctor and he just wasn't finished with me yet...I'm still working on getting one of my songs to George Strait to listen to....I think I still have time...and I'm only 62!!!
Just by chance, I found out about Justin Boots on the internet. Following a gut feeling and a curiosity that needed to be satisfied, I eventually purchased a pair of Justin Boots. Unfortunately, there are not many retailers in Australia that supply Justin boots, but with the help of the Justin Boots website, I was able to decide on the size suitable for me. When my boots finally arrived, words could not describe my glee. GORGEOUS BOOTS, PERFECT FIT and SOOOOO COMFY!!!!!Love at first sight, now my top obsession. I am so in love and can't imagine being without Justin...Just wish there was a guy out there that fit the description as well as my boots.
I have had a stetson hat out on the range and a pair of justin original workboots. Both have given me great service but i'm telling you justin is the best. One day i was out on my morning ride when i spotted a OSB board laying out in the field.I reached down to pick it up and to my surprise a copperhead was underneath it.I jumped back but only to find out that he'd bit my boot. But, thanks to the Justin boots i had on, i was ok. So thanks Justin Boots, thanks for making number 1 Boots and for saving my hide.
My 9018's have been through a year in Afghanistan so far. They have seen floods, freezing cold, and tepratures in the 130's, and are still going strong. I have worn Justin my whole life but Ive never put a pair of boots through this. I have to tip my hat once again to the best boot maker in the world.
Thanks Justin Boots
Keep it up.
Although I was born in NYC, lace-up work boots became my "official" footwear at age 15. I remember that my mother couldn't stand them, but I loved the look, durability, comfort, and protection they gave me. Twenty years later, at age 35, I switched to military boots and continued the tradition.
Several years passed, and I was in Houston on a business trip. I decided to get my first pair of cowboy boots as an early 40th birthday gift to myself. Unfortunately, the salesman at the boot store was more interested in making a sale than in giving me a good fit. When I tried on a pair of high-quality, name-brand boots in my normal shoe size, I remember saying, "I feel like I'm going to walk right out of these." I was new to cowboy boots and didn't realize that there's supposed to be some heel slippage in a new boot. The salesman should have told me this, but instead, he talked me into a smaller size. My toes felt all scrunched together in the toe box, but the salesman assured me that the boots would loosen up as I broke them in.
I wore the boots quite a bit at first, waiting for the salesman's promise to come true. But all that happened was that my feet hurt. As a result, I wore the boots less and less, and I finally gave up when I took them off one day and saw that my feet were bleeding. I returned to my military boots and didn't look back.
It took ten years before I would try cowboy boots again. I was approaching age 50, and by this time I had moved from the city to the suburbs to the country. Once again, I decided that a pair of cowboy boots would be my birthday gift to myself. I ordered online this time, and I got a pair of ostrich boots in the size I thought I should have gotten ten years earlier. They fit great, and they looked great!
I now own several pairs of cowboy boots, and the ones I find myself wearing most often are my Justins. My pull-on JOWs can take anything I throw at them, and my two pairs from the AQHA Remuda collection are the most comfortable boots I own!
Thanks, Justin, for helping this former city boy to adopt cowboy boots as his new "official" footwear!
