One of the greatest fastball pitchers of all time, Baseball Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan was born in Refugio, Texas. He returned to his home state in 1989 to join the Texas Rangers. Five memorable and record-setting seasons followed. Ryan is Major League Baseball’s all-time leader in strikeouts (5,714) and no-hitters (seven) and is one of only a handful of pitchers to have struck out both Hank Aaron and Barry Bonds.
