Rated 5 out of 5 by from CASUAL OR DRESSY BOOT! These boots have been my standard boot for over 20 years. I've had my current pair for approximately 5 years and they still look new. They are my 3rd or 4th pair over the last 20-25 years. I have only had to have the heel pad replaced once and will probably replace it in another few months. They take an incredible shine and in between shines I can easily maintain the shine with a slightly damp cloth that I wipe them with before heading out the door. The heel is a little taller than the regular ropers, which is a good thing for me. I have high insteps and this boot fits me comfortably. I normally where black GoldToe over the calf socks with these but I recently found another brand of sock's called "Wolverine" and they are black with Wolverine in Bold Red Letters. They are not as plush/thick as the GoldToe's over/above the calf athletic socks and after a few hours that is a good thing because our feet tend to swell after we've been walking and/or wearing our boots all day/night. I use cedar boot tree's and you must use them if you expect your boots/shoes to last a very long time. This model's number is 3040 and it fits to your exact size but I would recommend going one size wider to accommodate for a thicker sock and comfort. Mine are sized 10-E yet my other Justin boots, style 3170 Ropers, are sized 9 1/2-D and I need to were a thin sock. Next time I will order the 3170 as a size 10-E to again accommodate for a thicker sock. I've noticed that Justins ropers fit to a tighter size (usually one size smaller) than other brands of boots. That could be because of my high insteps. It is always better to have a slightly larger size than one to tight. You can adjust the fit with a variety of removable instep liners of different thicknesses. I good shoe repairman can help you with this. I tried some somewhat expensive leather liners and I can't recommend those because they are slippery and get arm when walking, plus they cost to much. Drug store Dr. Sholls are fine. Now back to these boots, they are comfortable! I'm used to boots with a higher walking heel like these and I like it. If your used to Justins Roper heel that is a lower walking heel you might not like this heel because you will be walking a little taller and prouder in these. Also, these have some audible sound when you walk because of the heels. Its an authoritative strut'n my stuff kind of sound. You don't get that with any of Justins Ropers, just this model. Furthermore, I get complimented regularly by men/women when I'm wearing these boots. Even the shoe shine stand folks at Nordstroms and the Airports give me compliments and they love working their magic with these. Use the Melotonian Shoe Cream and finish with Kiwi polish. A trick that you should try with black boots is after the Black Kiwi polish apply a final finish using Kiwi "blue" polish which will render a very deep polished finish when buffed out using a mist of water for that ultimate spit shine. These boots have become my "peacock" boots and I wear them with jeans and with slacks/suits because they are that dressy because of the shine these boots take. The Justin Company gives these boots a very nice finish from the Factory. Not quite a patent leather fake looking finish, but rather a finish that looks like it took years to get from hundreds of polishes. The1st reviewer could have saved himself his hard earned money by simply contacting Justin and they would have replaced them free of charge. I had another pair (my 2nd) that inadvertently cracked at the widest part of the upper sole on the outside after a few (maybe 24 or so) wearings and I sent them to Justin and they sent me a new replacement pair. That's service and is another reason why I highly recommend these boots to anyone who loves boots like me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Boots I ever bought Got these because I wanted a low heel boot, 3 weeks in ownership the right heel came completely off. Cost me $55.00 to have them fixed. After about 4 more months the liner in the left boot came out and wearing them became very uncomfortable, decided not to put any more $$$ into them so I tossed them into my closet and they have been there ever since

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great-looking, comfortable, tough boots. These are great, comfortable, well-made boots. The look great with jeans, or with dress pants. Very easy care; they require almost no effort to polish (a damp cloth with do the trick). I've had mine for about 4 years and they still are free of scuffs, and the soles/heels show very little wear. They look like dress boots, but wear like work boots. I'll definitely buy another pair of these at some point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love These Boots I've been wearing Justin boots for long time and decided to try these. I had been checking them out on the internet so i decided to buy them and went to the local boot shop. The outsoles are great and the leather is smooth and feels good on the leg and foot. Very comfortable. I am well pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Work Boot (Sheriff's Patrol) I have worn these boots for some time, I take them to the boot shop right out of the box and add a extra half sole. Spit shine holds awesome then take a while to break in though. Good uniform boot.
