Rated 5 out of 5 by from 22 years of reliability! I bought my ropers 22 years ago for $70. I have had them resoled 4 times. Finally the leather at my pinky toe is tearing. :( I absolutley love these boots! The inside sole did come off about 2 years ago, but I already adored them so i took them to a local leather/shoe repair shop and Voila! All fixed! Time to buy a new pair for double the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 14 Years And Counting The boots I purchased 14 years ago are actually the Lacer Copper Grizzly with leather sole. Justin doesn't seem to make this boot any longer and it is a crying shame. I have had these boots re-soled 4 times and still wear them 2 or 3 days per week. I wore them almost every day for the first 4 years. They look like these Black Kidde, but they are a burnt orange copper leather upper with kilti. Super nice. Bring back the copper grizzly lacers !!!!!!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Quality has changed I purchased used Justin's brown three years ago and loved it, so I decided to purchase a brand new pair in black, from the website. Unfortunately encountered the same problem that occurred with other reviewers, the sole to my new black pair completely fell apart, I was and am highly disappointed. You had such a great product, and I don't know what has changed but my used brown pair is still together and my brand new purchased one is not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Justin 506 lace ups So happy that they came back in stock. My favorite pair of boots by far! Had them for a month now and can't go one day with out wearing them. Extremely comfortable, and look sharp! The only thing is make sure to have the sole protected. With out a rubber protector sole, the leather wears really fast, and the stitching will go lose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from color I bought a pair at least 22 years ago. they were brown and size 14b. I know at least half dozen men that would buy this boot in the brown. why don't you make them agin because mine are about to wear out. I have resoled them at least 3 times please think about bringing them back. and yes I wear a 14b its not a type o

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my Ropers I have had four lace up Justin Ropers since about 1991 with only two pairs left. They are the best for country dancing! The leather soles are the key. I panicked when I could not find the lace up type. I see you still offer them.

Boot Fit Tips

Because boots don't have laces, proper fit is all about the instep.
Boots should feel snug in this area, but not tight.
If the instep is too tight, go for a wider or bigger size.

The widest part of the foot is called the ball (it's where you bend your foot when you walk or run).
Make sure the ball of your foot lines up with the the ball of the boot (that's the widest part of the boot where the steel shank ends).
If the boot is too short, your toes will be forced into the toe box.

Boots should slip slightly in the heel. Boots are built in such a way that there's nothing to keep your heel from riding up a bit.
As you wear the boot, the sole will become more flexible and most of the slippage will disappear with time.
If the instep is too loose, the boot will slip too much, which means that you need a narrower or smaller size boot.
