Rated 3 out of 5 by from Best boots I ever had, but........... I hadn't had new boots in over ten years so I did alot of browsing and reading reviews before I finally settled on these. I agree with the other reviewer that they were very difficult to break in but once I did, I was very pleased with the fit and comfort. I have worn these boots probably 5 days a week every week for 6 months or more and loved everything about them, until today that is. I was cleaning them and as I scrubbed a lb of mud from the heel block I discover much to my surprise that it is not a traditional stacked leather heel as I previously believed. It is in fact a solid white plastic heel block covered by a thin layer of leather made to look like stacked leather. Wow, I really have to say I was shocked to learn that what I thought was a high quality pair of boots ($180 retail, why shouldn't I assume high quality) was made in such a cheap way. Now I'm wondering what else I'll discover about these boots.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rubber Soles and Great looks I love the color of the turquoise thread with the brown and that they are rubber soles. I'm having a bit of trouble getting them broke in but I hope to make them my "everyday" boots. I can't keep from getting a blister under my inside right ankle from the way the leather bends in.

Boot Fit Tips

Because boots don't have laces, proper fit is all about the instep.
Boots should feel snug in this area, but not tight.
If the instep is too tight, go for a wider or bigger size.

The widest part of the foot is called the ball (it's where you bend your foot when you walk or run).
Make sure the ball of your foot lines up with the the ball of the boot (that's the widest part of the boot where the steel shank ends).
If the boot is too short, your toes will be forced into the toe box.

Boots should slip slightly in the heel. Boots are built in such a way that there's nothing to keep your heel from riding up a bit.
As you wear the boot, the sole will become more flexible and most of the slippage will disappear with time.
If the instep is too loose, the boot will slip too much, which means that you need a narrower or smaller size boot.
