Great for airport use. As an airline crewmember the list of an airport security friendly pair of shoes/boots its limited. This boots have a non-metallic insert. The other reason why I LOVE my 3170 it's because I spent a lot of time walking around salt and glycol used to melt the snow on the ground and on the aircraft.
