About Anthony Lucia

Anthony Lucia's path to professional rodeo was not just a career choice but a natural progression from his deeply ingrained rodeo roots. His father, the renowned Tommy Lucia, was a pivotal figure in rodeo entertainment, and it was from him that Anthony inherited his love for performing.

But Lucia's connection to rodeo goes beyond mere entertainment. He is a self-proclaimed "total rodeo geek," harboring a profound admiration for the sport and its athletes. His entry into team roping began humbly, pushing steers for seasoned ropers like Jake Barnes and Clay O'Brien Cooper, soaking in every lesson and moment of camaraderie.

In a surprising turn of events at the Days of 47 Rodeo in Salt Lake City, Lucia had the chance to rope alongside his childhood hero, Speed Williams. The experience, though nerve-wracking, added a thrilling chapter to Lucia's rodeo story.

Anthony Lucia is not just a voice behind the microphone but a seasoned competitor in his own right. Often, he steps away from announcing to participate in team roping events, offering a unique perspective that enriches his commentary and deepens his understanding of the sport.

Lucia's journey wasn't without its challenges. Finding his distinct voice as an announcer took time and guidance, including a pivotal moment of advice from legendary entertainer Lecile Harris. Today, Anthony's high-energy performances and rock-and-roll vibe captivate audiences, embodying the spirit of rodeo entertainment.

Married to a former Miss Rodeo America, Anthony and Lisa Lageshaar Lucia have established roots in Brock, Texas, where they both compete in rodeo—Lisa in Barrel Racing and Anthony in Team Roping. When he’s not traveling the rodeo road, Anthony loves to golf, practice team roping, and co-host the Cowboy Mafia Podcast.
